Usage & Description

The Bastard does not have any special abilities, but it does what Torgue does best: Heavy firepower at the expense of accuracy. The Bastard has exceptionally high damage, but even less accuracy and more recoil than other Torgue guns. The increased magazine size and overall characteristics of the gun make it excellent at providing supporting fire at medium/close range. Roland's ability to control recoil makes it even more devastating in his hands.

Trivia

• This is the only weapon with a reference to its manufacturer in its red text.
• There's a chance that this weapon could spawn with the "glorious" prefix, making a Glorious Bastard which would be an indirect reference to the film Inglourious Basterds.

Mechanics

The Bastard effect comes from the barrel4_Torgue_Bastard barrel. It is based on barrel4, the most powerful barrel available on Combat Rifles. Compared to barrel4, the barrel4_Torgue_Bastard provides even more damage, a larger clip size, and more recoil.
