Trivia[]
This weapon's name translates into english as "Dear Friend".
The original red text, Je suis enchante, Ou est le bibliotheque?, translates in English to: "I am delighted, Where is the library?" This is likely a reference to "Foux Du Fafa" by Flight of the Conchords.[1] It is (intentionally) grammatically incorrect French. Grammatically correct French would be "Je suis enchanté. Où est la bibliothèque?"[2], which the red flavor text has been changed to from the original incorrect grammar. The French version of the weapon is grammatically correct [3].
In the Russian localization, the weapon's name was translated as "Французский друг" (French friend) and the red text changed to a transliterated phrase in broken French that references a quote from the novel The Twelve Chairs by two Soviet authors.
When the Chère-amie is used by a Siren with skill points invested in Restoration, the team member will be healed along with triggering the Transfusion effect, healing both characters.
At 15%, the Chère-amie has the second-highest transfusion heal effect out of all Moxxi weapons, beating the Rubi's 12.5% and being beaten by the Grog Nozzle's 65%.
However, the 15% is only from the gun itself. This is the only Moxxi weapon to have two separate healing percentages.
