Corpse eaters are undead Trash Feeders, similar to Mordecai's own pet, Bloodwing.

StrategyEdit

• They attack in swarms in a manner not unlike Rakk, but are much harder to shake off.
• Each Corpse Eater will make several attacks before backing off for another pass. It is strongly recommended that you kill them before they can attack you in the first place.
• Like Rakk, they are quite fragile and will usually die to the first thing that hits them.
• An Explosive or Elemental Longbow grenade mod works wonders against Corpse Eaters. Throw one on the ground when you are swarmed, and it should take out around half of the swarm, if not all depending on the damage rating of the mod.
• Transfusion grenade mods are also useful, as Corpse eaters are generally weak, and the homing nature of the transfusion grenade tracks them and can take them down very easily, with the added bonus of restoring your health. Throw several transfusion grenades when being attacked by the swarm.
• A simple tactic is to use Lillith's Phoenix skill. Kill one out of the swarm and they will move to attack, setting themselves on fire and often dying before being able to re-group for another attack.
• The fact that they fly in close packs makes a shotgun's spread shot extremely effective.

NotesEdit

• Although similar to Rakk in behavior, killing Corpse Eaters does not count toward the 'Rakk Slayer' chain of Challenges.
• The name suggests that the native Trash Feeders became undead by feeding off the remains of the dead, and so became more hostile like the other zombies.
• The high abundance of Corpse Eaters, along with their small amount of health makes it very easy the get the "Conveyor of Death" challenge.
• The large numbers of Corpse Eaters also makes them ideal sources of weapon proficiency levels on playthroughs 2 and 2.5.

TriviaEdit

During the mission Eggcellent Opportunity!, Corpse Eaters drop the Bloodwing Egg item card, hinting that Trash Feeders and Bloodwing are the same species.
