Development is the title of a group of common shotguns in Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. They are manufactured exclusively by Hyperion and features the quad (Torgue's) barrel.
Usage and description
As with all Hyperion shotguns, the Development is fully automatic but has a relatively small magazine, meaning frequent reloading since like all quad shotguns it uses four rounds per shot. Compared to the other quads, its damage is moderate, though still extremely high compared to any other sub-group of shotgun. Though more accurate than an oberkil!, a Development is still only suited to short range.
This shotgun consumes 4 ammo but it also has the slowest fire rate among the other Hyperion shotguns which are all automatic. No other common shotgun can deplete completely the entire ammo in the inventory as quickly as this one, even while gunzerking. Although skills like the 5 Shots or 6 can help with the massive waste of ammo.
Notable variants
- Butcher - Pearlescent shotgun with extreme accuracy, regenerating ammo, random magazine size upon reloads and a very high fire rate.
Notes
- The variants of Development in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel commonly spawns with Hyperion's new-style materials and prefixes which are the same as in Borderlands 2.
- The Development is obtained randomly from any suitable loot source.
- Taking advantage of skills like Salt the Wound from Krieg or Interspersed Outburst from Gaige can boost the already high damage of this weapon.
