Trivia[]

  • Dialogue in Claptrap Web Series ep. 1 appears to be loosely based on Christian Bale's infamous on-set rant during the filming of Terminator Salvation in July, 2008. Recordings of the rant were leaked to the media early in 2009 and footage has since surfaced on YouTube.
  • Episode #2 references the Bill O'Reilly incident where he didn't understand his teleprompter (or it was malfunctioning) causing him to say "we're doing it live!"
  • Episode #3's introductory splash screen and the line, "Tonight we dine in Fyrestone!" are references to the movie 300. The original quote was, "Tonight, we dine in Hell!"
  • In Episode #3, while Claptrap is "accepting" the AIAS award, he tells the runners-up that they will "be in something big someday." The runners-up that he mentions are Nathan Drake, Mark Hamill, and Jack Black. Nathan Drake is the protagonist of "Uncharted 2: Among Thieves", while Mark Hamill voiced The Joker on "Batman: Arkham Asylum," and Jack Black voiced and lent his appearance to Eddie Riggs, the protagonist of "Brütal Legend". Those games were all released in 2009.
  • Claptrap's Episode #3 closing line, "I'm king of the world!" being dragged off the stage, mimics James Cameron's infamous acceptance speech for the Best Director award in the 1998 Academy Awards Ceremony, awarded for the movie Titanic.
  • Episode #4 contains many characters from within the game itself, including Dr. Ned and Dr. Zed (who are apparently different people), as well as Mordecai, Scooter, and many others. Duke Nukem's torso is also seen passing the camera at the 2:36 mark.
