Focus is a formidable Tier 1 skill: it not only improves the accuracy of the weapon in hand (its spread, or weapon accuracy percentage: +4% per level), but also improves character accuracy (Mordecai's ability to hold a gun straight), via accuracy minimum (best accuracy from rest: +5% per level), accuracy maximum (worst accuracy, recovering from recoil: +3.3% per level), and the accuracy regeneration rate (how quickly Mordecai recovers from recoil: +10% per level). This skill's accuracy boost is less useful on sniper rifles, as they are rarely fired from the hip and are always perfectly aimed when shouldered, though its buffs to weapon spread and stability are still valuable.
Proficiency and mods' "Accuracy Increase" Actually only affect Mordecai's "accuracy minimum" (the accuracy at rest), and not Mordecai's "accuracy maximum" (the worst accuracy). Because of this Focus remains useful even at the end of the game, especially if the player uses weapons with high recoil (machine guns), or tends to shoot from the hip.
- "Weapon" accuracy is actually only increased by 4% per level.
- To get the actual effect on the "cone", apply 1/(1 + AccIncrease)
- For example, at level 5, the +20% Weapon Accuracy Increase will mean the weapon's spread will be at 84% (-16% spread).
