The Golden Chest is located in Sanctuary and is opened by using a Golden Key. Keys are given by pre-ordering Borderlands 2, thus being a Premiere Club member, and by redeeming SHiFT codes given by Gearbox or other sources linked to Gearbox. By opening the chest it will give purple and E-tech weapons and items. blue and some times purple relics can also spawn in the chest. After collecting all of the items, the chest will close. If a player has more Golden Keys available, they can open it again for more loot.
Notes
- If the chest is opened, but the game is exited without being saved before the loot is collected, the key will not be restored.
