[Impaler Variants]

The Impaler is a Legendary Spike Shield manufactured by Maliwan. Impaler is obtained randomly from any suitable loot source but has an increased chance to drop from The Warrior located in Vault of the Warrior.

Special Effects

Vlad would be proud – Launches Corrosive homing spikes when damaged at range. Deals Corrosive spike damage to melee attackers.

Usage & Description

Spikes home in on targets and will not miss unless there is a wall between the character and the enemy or the distance to the enemy is too great.

Notes

• Kills made by launched spikes don´t count towards the "Game of Thorns" challenge.
• The Impaler can spawn with a Maliwan capacitor, granting the "Alkaline" prefix and corrosive immunity to its wearer. It cannot spawn with resistance against any other element.

Trivia

• Flavor text and effect refer to Vlad Tepes (literally "the Spiker" or "the Impaler") aka Vlad Dracul, who was famous for torturing his enemies by impaling them on spikes.
• The launched spikes are identical to the ones launched by a Necrophage.
