King Aracobb is the king of all spiderants. He is located in the Trash Coast, directly west of the transition point and will appear during the "Bait And Switch" mission after the abdomen of Queen Tarantella is placed as "Bait". He is not large compared to Queen Tarantella but is the same size if not marginally bigger than a regular King Spiderant.

The usual spiderant tactics may be used on King Aracobb as he has the behavior of regular spiderants. The King has substantial health which will make him a challenging opponent if he proves difficult to flank, especially because he deals considerably more damage than regular King Spiderants.

King Aracobb will respawn after completing the related mission, making it possible to harvest experience and items.

Tactics

King Aracobb's large front head shield makes hitting the vulnerable abdomen from the front very difficult. His movements keep his abdomen generally covered behind his head, when not stunned.

A viable tactic, however, is to snipe from extreme range, relying on bullet drop to clip his abdomen despite not being able to see it directly. Shoot at the top edge of his head shield to either side of the tall center spike for accurate and reliable critical hits. Another tactic is to use corrosive weapons which, unlike Queen Tarantella, will cause damage.

Trivia

• The name Aracobb, and by inference Aragog from J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets , appears to be a combination of "aranea", or "arachnid", and "cobb" (or "coppe"), a Middle English word for spider (as in cobweb).
