Special Weapon Effects

The Unstoppable Force – The rocket will explode at regular intervals while in flight.

Usage & Description

The Rhino's projectile, like the Nidhogg's, deals moderate damage upon impact. However, also like the Nidhogg, this rocket launcher's special effect is best utilized by not firing directly at an enemy. Because of the projectile's unique feature of multiple explosions in-flight, the Rhino is best used against hordes of enemies. Fire the Rhino at long range, parallel to the ground, at a point beyond a group of enemies, and the projectile will "infect" multiple enemies with its elemental effect before impact. This effect, combined with the guaranteed x4 elemental effect and Maliwan's high tech pool, makes the Rhino especially effective against hordes of enemies, such as the Horde Wave in Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot, and in beachhead situations like the assault on the Crimson Armory. It can also be useful for killing multiple airborne enemies and those hidden behind cover.

Notes

• The interval at which the rocket explodes before hitting its target is based on the time it has been airborne, not how far it has traveled. This makes the launcher less effective when using a Siren with High Velocity - a faster rocket means that it will explode fewer times before reaching the target.

Trivia

• The red text could be a reference to the irresistible force paradox.
• This is the only Maliwan Legendary weapon where the special effect does not come from the accessory. As such, this is also the only Legendary Maliwan weapon that can have any elemental accessory.

Mechanics
