The bonus applies to damage from all critical hits, both weapon and melee.
Slayer does not actually increase the final critical hit damage by an overall +5% damage. Rather, it just adds a +12.5% of the weapon's base damage to the overall critical damage. This difference will have an effect depending on an enemy's critical zone multiplier. Please see Mordecai's Deadly for more information.
