Sledge's Shotgun is a Legendary Shotgun manufactured by Bandit. Sledge's Shotgun is obtained randomly from any suitable loot source but has an increased chance to drop from Smash-Head located in The Fridge.

Usage & Description

Unlike all other Bandit shotguns, Sledge's Shotgun cannot sustain fire by holding the trigger. This makes the fire rate on its weapon card somewhat misleading, as there is an undescribed pause between each burst, and the trigger must be pulled again to resume firing.

Notes

• Beyond the burst-fire effect, there are very few similarities between this shotgun and Sledge's Shotgun from Borderlands. This version of the Shotgun lacks the incredible knock-back and the guaranteed extra 150% melee damage of its predecessor. It is implied that the burst-fire combined with the 2-round magazine of the original Sledge's Shotgun was meant to emulate a double-barrel, so the burst and double barrels present on the Borderlands 2 variant are somewhat redundant.
• Sledge's Shotgun is a returning weapon from the original Borderlands, though it was originally made by Jakobs in the first installment.
• The only valid prefix for this weapon is "Sledge's", regardless of accessories, grips or elemental capacitors.
