Possible Glitch...?[]

When I was on my friend's questline, I jumped on one of the suspects and killed them, without completing the quest. This was on the 360 version. Truely, you really need to shoot who you think is the culprit, but it may be impossible to finish the quest if you bunny hop on all of them, no? Or at least fail it permamently. Or kill them all. This should be experimented with. That may also affect that quest with that lazy sheriff and the killer of what's-his-face.

I shot one and the remaining three all killed each other. The mission still completed. -- WarBlade (talk) 01:56, October 22, 2012 (UTC)
You can save and reload your game, and the characters will be alive again. This could be a bit of an exploit I suppose, since you can get the money from him over and over. -- DaedalusRaistlin (talk) 10:12, November 13, 2012 (UTC)

/* Simple Logic */[]

Easy to follow approach, to help people get it strait in thier heads.

Only one person is speaking the truth.

If Sam was the Thief, both Jim and Lindy would be telling the truth, test failed.

If O'Cantler was the Thief, both Jim and Sam would be telling the truth, test failed.

If Lindey was the Thief, both Jim and O'Cantler would be telling the truth, test failed.

Jim is the Thief, O'Cantler is telling the truth.

True culprit doesn't matter[]

Not sure if its the same for everyone, but for this mission no matter who I accuse they all start going crazy shooting each other and killing everyone, leaving me the treasure of cash as my reward.--Lycos Devanos Drop me a line 00:59, November 3, 2013 (UTC)

Jim returns to life? (PC)[]

Yes it's 2020 and just reporting this... not that it matters one way or the other, just want to see if anyone else has seen it.

So Roland just met his end and you just got forcefully teleported to the back room of Marcus' shop by Lilith. Like most, I ran around and turned in my side quests from Opportunity, like CL4P-TP's Statuesque and Moxxi's Hell Hath No Fury. ( The ones not in the HQ you'll be heading to anyway. ) before heading to turn in the main quest. Saw the exclamation by Scooter's place on the minimap and stopped to do this mission, listened to everyone, shot Jim in the face...  all good.

So now go to HQ turn in side and main quest, advance to next stage, and the main one is Bearer of Bad News where you have to tell Marcus, Moxxi, Scooter, and Doc about it. As I'm leaving Moxxi's and going down the steps to the garage entrance to Scooter's, imagine my surprise...

Jim Kepler is alive! Back from a (normally fatal) blast to the face. And standing there in 'tense' mode, in his Truxican Standoff posture, pistol out, and alternating where he points it; of course his BFFs have moved since they watched me execute him, Sam Matthews is chin-on-palm contemplating the universe at the parking area poles, Lindy Archman is leaning against the left side of the open entrance to Scooter's garage, and O'Cantler is at the edge of the drop-off kneeling down staring into the abyss...

So this is two-fold. First, I thought you had to turn in Where Angels Fear To Tread (Pt 2) before A Truxican Standoff could start, that is not true. And of course the obvious, that dead people don't get up and walk around. The other Marshall in Town mission you get involved with, Won't Get Fooled Again, with the Gutter brothers, that body still lays in town.

My thought is, whatever allowed the quest to be started before turning in WAFTTpt2, then allowed it to partially reset the quest, but then some piece of watchdog code after is_person_spawned_already=no looks for is_quest_completed and skips the rest, explains how he's untouchable like every other townsperson (can't interact with him either, no (E) Talk, nothing but name and full health bar..)

Anyway, just FYI. 8 years on no one cares, but wondered if anyone's seen it, or if you saw it and wondered if anyone else did? Yes, at least one has.
