Page spacing I can't seem to get the markup to work correctly with those three infoboxes, causing the large spacing above the first header. Can anyone get that to work correctly? --Lagged 22:54, November 3, 2009 (UTC)

Naming convention Edit

Naming doesn't seem to have any relation to the stock or scope, as the two 10101s have different stocks and scopes. Anyone see something I'm not?

I've noticed this too. As stated below I've had two seperate cannons at the same time. Both had the same name, damage, lvl etc etc but the only variation was the sights. Both were Ironsights though so maybe on of the numbers simply represents "Ironsights" and it randomly picks one...? --Seffyr Llanir 09:58, November 14, 2009 (UTC)

Actually, the message is kind of old. The name actually is related to the stock. Check the Eridian weapons#Gun names section. Sights aren't related, though, and appear to be random. --Lagged 10:09, November 14, 2009 (UTC)

I'm confused. I'm sitting with two of the Eridian lvl49 Cannon with names that doesn't correspond to the table underneath. Am I missing something? http://img69.imageshack.us/i/itemcard00007x.jpg/ and http://img69.imageshack.us/i/itemcard00005x.jpg/ TallyWay 02:04, November 16, 2009 (UTC)

You're referring to the damage, not the stock/magazine naming, right? The names match the gun parts. The damage is really interesting, though. I'd put in the 1639 based on the images seen at http://gbxforums.gearboxsoftware.com/showthread.php?t=83233&page=4, though yours do seem to be true level 49 guns. Looking at the link's guns closer, his cannons are strangely at level 48 with a different sale value. --Lagged 02:26, November 16, 2009 (UTC)
I've nuked the level 49 data confirmed using the forum shots. Those level 48s must have come from somehwere, though they don't make any sense at all. --Lagged 02:36, November 16, 2009 (UTC)

I just found a level 56 cannon in one of the lance chests in the third DLC

Cleaning up. Edit

Seems like we have almost of the data we can get from the screenshots, except for the appearance, which will require delving into the debug console. It'd be good to replace the user screenshot section with images of each of the stock, body, accessory, magazine, scope, etc. piece possibilities in the long run. --Lagged 20:30, November 6, 2009 (UTC)

Raw data Edit

Dump of my Cannons' info. I'll be removing them from the "Encountered Variant" chart shortly.

  • Reload time appears directly related to the Stock type, as the Thunder Storms all have the same reload time and have no stock.
  • Magazine affects the clip size, overheat delay. It's unknown what magazine 5 does.
  • Barrel always equals "barrel5_Cannon", material always equals "material_Eridian_1", Prefix is always "None", and Title is always "Cannon". Fire delay is always 1.3, for all guns. Unknown if parts can affect it.

--Lagged 18:01, November 7, 2009 (UTC)

Magazine 4 is new: gives a whopping 200 capacity! But a really bad 5.2 second overcharge delay. Oh, mag 5 as well. --Zaybertamer 00:28, November 9, 2009 (UTC)

Good times :) Do you have a good screenshot of the one with magazine 5? I _think_ that's the one in the fuzzy screenshot on the article page, but I couldn't tell. I can use it to fill in the final magazine type in the chart. --Lagged 00:49, November 9, 2009 (UTC)

Yup, the snail shell is definitely Mag5.Here's your screenshot. -Zaybertamer 00:58, November 9, 2009 (UTC)

Added it to the chart. One last thing to bug you with, though. The chart here is missing the regeneration rate, which can be affected by the proficiency. Could I get those two numbers from you? Thanks! --Lagged 06:46, November 9, 2009 (UTC)

Got a screencap of the level 46 variation of the cannon; I'm going to add the data to the table on the page. http://borderlands.wikia.com/wiki/File:Eridian_10100_Cannon.png --HybridDragoness 06:53, November 14, 2009 (UTC)

Ironsights Misaligned? Edit

I've noticed with two variants of the lvl 48 version of the Cannon that the Ironsights are misaligned. I had both variants at the same time so it's out of the question that it might only be one. In both cases the Ironsights were well to the right of the crosshair and actual firing line of the shots...

Has anyone else noticed this/can confirm this? And does it qualify to go into the Trivia or Bugs section of the page? (Note: Xbox Version, latest most recent update as of 14 November) --Seffyr Llanir 09:47, November 14, 2009 (UTC)

I believe that the misalignment is specific to the iron sight type, and is intentionally applied to all Eridian guns. You might want to add it to the Eridian weapons page, under the sights bit. --Lagged 09:54, November 14, 2009 (UTC)

Variants firing faster balls Edit

When the page was first created, someone suggested that variants of the gun can fire faster balls. However, I've never seen it happen with any of my cannons and no one has ever confirmed it. Moving the speculation section here, just in case. --Lagged 21:05, November 15, 2009 (UTC)

Maybe whoever suggested this was using a siren and had High Velocity maxed or something.Deadlock82 13:10, March 10, 2010 (UTC)

Level 48 guns? Edit

Does anyone know where a base level 48 version of this gun would spawn? Someone on the Gearbox forums collected 4 of them: http://gbxforums.gearboxsoftware.com/showthread.php?t=83233&page=4 --Lagged 02:45, November 16, 2009 (UTC)

Figured it out. Master McCloud's gun during playthrough 2.5 is a level 48 (https://dl-web.dropbox.com/get/Photos/level48_cannon.png?w=accbbadb). Seems to be the only level 48 I've found, though. --Lagged 03:30, November 16, 2009 (UTC)
all guns appear at level 48 in playthrough 2.5. level 49 can be obtained from mccloud and im pretty sure (~85%) from the "sometimes eridian" box above scooter's. Don't touch this!!!Dr. F 20:03, January 11, 2010 (UTC) Disavowed
McCloud's is always level 48, even when unequipped. You can tell it's distinct from the 49s since it's got a different sell value. Unless a recent patch has changed this? --Lagged 21:04, January 11, 2010 (UTC)
laggy is correct Don't touch this!!!Dr. F

Level 19, PURPLE Edit

I found a purple rarity canon in the arid badlands in a red oval chest, the difference i think is that it has a 0.9 fire rate. I was using Lilith and i'm on the ps3

Uhh, sorry to sound sondescending, but COOL STORY BRO. That is not possible. Ever. The only non-green Eridians only come up in Secret Armory. So, Pics or it didn't happen. And Sign your posts. GnarlyToaster 15:02, April 4, 2010 (UTC)

Triva Edit

The 010011110100110101000111 string is binary for OMG!

that is mentioned here somewhere, not in the article though. put it in at the bottom as above under trivia. Don't touch this!!!Dr. F 19:05, January 29, 2010 (UTC)

Critical hits on certain enemies Edit

I noticed in the article that this weapon supposedly cannot score critical hits. However, during my first playthrough, I got a few critical hits on the Destroyer, and on my second playthrough I've been getting several on Larva Crab Worms (which the Eridian Cannon kills instantly if you get a critical hit on them). Should this be mentioned in the article? Sith Alchemy 101 15:40, May 19, 2010 (UTC)

Completely bypassing ROF and Overheat Delay... Edit

I came across 2 Cannons with a similar spec in the same game. Equipping both at once I found that I could bypass its listed ROF by doing this:

1. Fire.

2. Switch to the other cannon

3. Repeat.

It's still a poor ROF (determined by how fast you can swap weapons) but at least it's better than the default. >_>

Also, seems that I could do this endlessly even if any of the Cannons overheated in the process - apparently putting it back into the backpack causes the Overheat state to disappear and has it start recharging immediately. 0_o

Eridian ??? Edit

I just recently aquired a weapon called the 10101 Cannon. I went to this wiki to learn more on it and when I ran a search on 10101 it turned up zero results. I then ran a search on 10101 Cannon and saw the redirect to a page called Eridan. I can't speak for anyone else but my weapon does not say the word Eridan anywhere. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.27.167.139 (talkcontribs)

If you'd look under Eridian weapons, you'd see the naming system includes a string of binary as the model number. Most Eridian weapons do not include the word "Eridian" in it.  nagy   talkScorpio-full.pnglog     06:06, January 3, 2011 (UTC)

Every item card, when viewing it in game, has the manufacturer listed on it. This is where it says Eridian.Veggienater 12:45, January 3, 2011 (UTC)

Eridian Weapons easily looted? Edit

I haven't been playing Borderlands for long, but I got the Eridian Cannon and while it's an alright weapon I prefer to stick to my sniper rifles. My question is simply this: When I come across any Eridian weapon, is it safe to say that it will come up again later in loot or in a chest or something? So, if I sell my 101001 cannon, It's not gone forever? These weapons are common during the game? I have heard that the General Knoxx DLC has more Eridian weapons... how are they found? Thanks 114.76.24.22 17:13, September 21, 2011 (UTC)

Yes it can spawn randomly in chests, or they can be dropped by particular enemies. Eridian Weapons lists the ones that can be found in DLC3. Logisim 18:00, September 21, 2011 (UTC)

like all weapons in the game, Eridians spawn randomly. Chances are good that you will come across others while playing but not definate. There are also orange eridians in the Knoxx DLC. They will most likely drop from badass enemies such a Crimson Lance. I have never actually found one personally. Veggienatersml.png 23:01, September 21, 2011 (UTC)

101010 Cannon Black(Purple Flashes) Edit

When I am Turning in my game, (360) the black thing on the gun seems to turn purple based on cardinal directions.

Near NORTH , WEST , SOUTH , and EAST. It turns purple.

Weird. Any Reason?
