Halo Reference?[]
I was thinking that this is probably a reference to the needler from the Halo series.Should I add it?(forgot signature)--Wee!Woohoo!Broccoli! 21:53, December 15, 2009 (UTC)

I can't imagine it is, given there's no similarity but the name. There have been guns referred to as "needlers" for centuries. 98.233.210.6 23:55, March 5, 2010 (UTC)
Needler is a common classification if you will, amongst many sci-fi weapons. In Jack L. Chalker's books the needler is referenced and vaguely described as a type of narrow missile launching pistol. In the book Star Craft: Liberty's War, the needler is also a very similar weapon, being a smaller pistol version of the common Gauss riffles. In short, needler is just another name for a spike shooting weapon, not really a reference to anything, unless otherwise stated by the makers of borderlands. I'd suggest that we just change the trivia section to, "The needler is a rather common staple weapon of many Sci-Fi novels and games." Aryeonos 04:12, September 22, 2010 (UTC)
